Invite someone to Walkie

Pick them in New conversation and tap Invite by text. They connect with you when they join and verify the same number you invited.

Got an invite? Welcome in… let me walk you through it.

Someone you work with invited you to Walkie Pro. Here's what that means.

Walkie keeps a project's texts, calls and photos together... sorted by project.

Tap the link, and get the app. Sign in with Apple or Google, and confirm your number. No password.

Your conversation is already waiting. Send a message... or make the first call.

It's free for you. No credit card. And every Walkie call is recorded and shared with everyone in the conversation.

Tap the + on Projects to open New conversation, pick the person from your contacts, and tap Invite by text. Your own texting app opens with a message and a personal link, sent from your number. When they join Walkie Pro and verify the same phone number you invited, a conversation with you appears for both of you.

Steps

  1. On Projects, tap the + at the top to open New conversation.
  2. Pick the person. People not on Walkie are listed under INVITE BY TEXT.
  3. Tap Invite by text. If you have outside calls on, the main button is Call, and the invite is Invite by text instead.
  4. Your texting app opens with the message addressed to them. Check it and send it.
  5. Walkie confirms: “Invite sent to (first name). They’ll land in a conversation with you when they join.”

Another way in: You › My Contacts › the Invite pill on their row.

For someone who isn’t in your contacts, You › Invite & earn › Share invite link sends a general link. It credits you if they join, but it doesn’t connect you: once they’ve joined, start a conversation with them.

If it didn’t work

  • You picked two or more people. Walkie makes an invite for each, then opens your phone’s share sheet with no one addressed: “Invites ready for (number) people. Pick them in Messages to send.” Choose each person there.
  • “Couldn’t create every invite — try again tomorrow.” You reached 30 invites in 24 hours. The message says how many were made.
  • You can’t invite at all. You have to verify your own phone number first.
  • They joined but you’re not connected. They verified a different number than the one you invited. Send a new invite to the number they use.
  • Checking an invite. Go to You › Invite & earn › See who joined and tap their name. It reads “Invited — expires (date)”, “Expired”, “Canceled” or “Joined”. Use Resend invite for a new 30-day link, Cancel invite to stop the link working, or Hide to clear it from this phone.
  • Resend isn’t offered. Resend only works from the phone that sent the invite. Invite them again from My Contacts.
  • You’re in a browser. There’s no phone address book there, and a text link usually opens nothing on a computer. Use Share invite link, which doesn’t connect you automatically.
  • They can’t find the app. The iPhone and Android apps are available by invitation. The web app at app.walkiepro.com is open to anyone.

What Walkie can’t do

  • There’s no Crew tab and no way to type a phone number in by hand.
  • New conversation can’t send one group text to several people at once.
  • An invite can’t match a number from outside the US or Canada.
  • An invite can’t connect if the person who sent it has deactivated their account or is being deleted, or if either of you has blocked the other.

When to contact us

If they joined with the exact number you invited and you still aren’t connected, email support@walkiepro.com or call +1 (323) 504-7400 with your name and the date you sent the invite. Include You › Help & support › Diagnostics › Copy diagnostics. We reply within one business day.

Quick answers

Is there a Crew tab?
No. You invite people from Projects, New conversation, or from You, Invite & earn, or from My Contacts.
Can I type in a phone number to invite someone?
No. Pick them from your contacts. Share invite link works for anyone, but it doesn't connect you automatically.
How long does an invite last?
30 days. Resend invite gives them a new link that lasts another 30 days.
How many people can I invite?
Up to 30 invites in 24 hours. After that, Walkie asks you to try again tomorrow.
Why didn't my invite connect us?
They have to verify the same phone number you invited. If they used a different number, send a new invite to that number.
Can I invite someone outside the US or Canada?
You can send the link, but only US and Canadian numbers can be verified, so the invite can't match them.
How do I know they joined?
You get a notification, "(Name) joined Walkie", and the invite shows as joined under See who joined.
