Send to your office’s Slack
Connect your office's Slack once from You, Your office. Then send a message or photo to a channel yourself; nothing crosses on its own.

- You › Your office
Your office connects to Walkie through Slack, once, from You › Your office. After that, nothing crosses on its own: you long-press a message or photo and send it to an office channel yourself, and replies in that Slack thread come back to Walkie.
Steps
- Go to You › Your office. With nothing connected it says “No office connected”.
- Tap Connect an office, then Continue with Slack on Connect your office.
- Approve Walkie in Slack. The sheet closes by itself when the connection finishes.
- The person who connected owns the office and picks its channels under Office channels. For each channel they choose who can post: Anyone in this office, “Only me” or Only certain people.
- To send something: in any conversation, long-press a message or photo, tap Send or share, then Send to office (it may show your office’s name instead), and pick a channel.
- Walkie confirms “On its way to (channel) in the (office).” The message is marked “In (channel)”, or Sent to the office if the channel name isn’t known.
If it didn’t work
- The Send to office row isn’t there. That kind of message can’t be sent (see below), or you aren’t in an office. Ask the owner to add you.
- “Already sent to the office.” A message can go to one channel only.
- A reply in Slack didn’t come back. Only a reply in the thread under your message, or a message that mentions @Walkie, crosses back. A new message in the channel stays in Slack.
- You were asked where the answer should land. If someone in the chat isn’t in the office, you choose The office answers in this chat or Keep the reply in the office.
- A private channel doesn’t work. Someone has to type /invite @Walkie in that Slack channel first.
- The connection stopped working. The owner can tap Reconnect this office; it keeps the office, its channels and everything that already crossed.
What Walkie can’t do
- Nothing is mirrored automatically, in either direction.
- It can’t connect a single job to a channel; the office is set up per account.
- Call summaries, walkthrough summaries, voice memos, calendar events, call events and bulletin posts can’t be sent.
- Slack files don’t come back into Walkie, and edits or deletes in Walkie don’t carry over to Slack.
- It works with Slack only, not Microsoft Teams.
- Anything you send is stored in your company’s Slack as well, under Slack’s rules.
