What someone new can and can’t see
Someone added to a conversation sees messages, calls, files, lists and notes from after they joined, but older bulletin posts and events too.

Someone you add to a conversation sees messages, calls, photos, files, lists and notes from the moment they joined, and nothing from before. Two things are different: bulletin posts and calendar events shared into that conversation are visible to everyone in it now, including ones from before the new person joined.
What they see, and from when
- From when they joined: messages, calls with their recordings, transcripts and summaries, photos and videos, files, lists and list items, notes, voice memos and shared locations. Walkie allows about a minute either side for phone clocks.
- Everything current, including older ones: bulletin posts and calendar events shared into the conversation. A sub added Tuesday sees Monday’s board. A post’s details, like a gate code, go to the audience chosen when it was posted.
- Never, for anyone else: your follow-ups, and anything in My Notes.
- Other conversations stay separate, even when the same job is connected to both. Adding someone to one conversation shows them nothing from another.
- Adding them may start as a request. If they don’t have you as a contact, they see the conversation as a Message request and must tap Accept before they can reply.
If it didn’t work
- A new person can’t see the punch list, photos or notes. They were shared before that person joined. Send the list again, or post the photo again, so it’s new to them.
- You want a code everyone on the job can see, including people added later. Put it on the job’s bulletin as a Getting in post, not in a note or message.
- You want to talk about something without a new person seeing it. Start a separate conversation and connect the same job to it.
What Walkie can’t do
- It can’t show a new person messages, calls or files from before they joined, even if you want it to.
- It can’t hide a bulletin post or calendar event from someone currently in the conversation.
- It can’t add someone to a one-on-one. That starts a new group (Start a group).
- You can’t leave a one-on-one or My Notes; you can only archive them.
- Someone who leaves and rejoins can’t see what was shared while they were out.

Quick answers
- Can someone I add see our old messages?
- No. They see messages, calls, files, lists and notes from the moment they joined, not before.
- Can someone I add see the gate code on the bulletin?
- Usually, yes. Bulletin posts shared into the conversation are visible to everyone in it now, including older ones, and a code shows to the audience the post was made for.
- Can a new person see my follow-ups?
- No. Follow-ups are always private to the person who set them.
- What does someone keep after they leave?
- They can still read what was shared while they were in. They lose the bulletin and calendar events, and they see nothing new.
- Can I add someone to a one-on-one?
- No. Adding a person to a one-on-one starts a new group instead.
- If someone rejoins, do they see what they missed?
- No. Anything shared while they were out stays hidden from them.
