Message requests: someone new messaged you

When someone who isn’t one of your Walkie contacts starts a conversation with you or adds you to a group, it shows up in your conversation list on Projects marked “Message request”. Open it and tap Accept to reply, Delete to drop it quietly, or Report and block to report them to Walkie and block them.
Steps
- On Projects, open the conversation marked “Message request”. You can read what they sent.
- At the bottom it says “(Name) isn’t in your contacts. Accept to reply.” In a group: “(Name) added you to this conversation and isn’t in your contacts.”
- Choose one:
- Accept: the message box appears and they’re saved as a contact, so their next conversation with you won’t be a request.
- Delete: a one-on-one is archived; a group is left. They aren’t told.
- Report and block: pick Spam, Harassment or Other. Walkie gets the report, they’re blocked, and the conversation leaves your list.
To unblock later: You › Account & privacy › Blocked accounts › Unblock.
If it didn’t work
- There’s no message box. It’s still a request. Tap Accept first; you can’t send until you do.
- You didn’t get a notification for each message. That’s expected. A request gets one notification when it starts, and at most one reminder after 3 days.
- You sent the request and they haven’t answered. Your side says “Message request sent — waiting for (name) to accept.” A deleted or blocked request looks exactly the same, so you can’t tell which.
- Someone you deleted is calling you. Deleting a request doesn’t stop calls. Use Report and block while the request is still open.
What Walkie can’t do
- There’s no separate requests inbox or filter.
- You can’t block someone you’ve already accepted.
- A block is on the person’s Walkie account, not a phone number.
- Blocking someone in a group doesn’t hide their messages in that group.
- Nothing stops a person whose request you deleted from calling you in Walkie, and a block may not stop calls either.
When to contact us
If someone keeps calling after you deleted or blocked their request, or you’re being harassed, email support@walkiepro.com or call +1 (323) 504-7400 with their name as Walkie shows it and the dates. We reply within one business day.

Quick answers
- Where are my message requests?
- In your conversation list on Projects, with everything else. A request says "Message request" under the name; there's no separate requests inbox.
- Why can't I reply?
- You haven't accepted yet. Tap Accept at the bottom of the conversation and the message box appears.
- Does the sender know if I delete their request?
- No. To them it looks the same as a request you haven't answered.
- How do I block someone I already accepted?
- You can't. Blocking is only offered on a message request, through Report and block.
- How do I unblock someone?
- Go to You, Account & privacy, Blocked accounts, and tap Unblock next to them.
- Will I keep getting notifications for a request?
- No. You get one notification when it starts and at most one reminder after 3 days, then nothing until you accept.
