Notification settings are on the You tab, under Calls & notifications, then Notifications, where you choose which kinds of Walkie alerts reach you. You can also mute one conversation, or one job across every conversation, from its own settings. None of Walkie’s mutes stop an incoming Walkie call from ringing, and there’s no setting that silences alerts at set times of day.

Steps

Choose which alerts reach you

  1. Tap You.
  2. Under Calls & notifications, tap Notifications.
  3. Check the box at the top. It shows Device permission, whether this phone is registered, and whether Walkie alerts are on.
  4. Under What reaches you, turn each row on or off. These are saved to your account and apply on every phone you use:
    • All notifications: new messages, files and updates. Turning it off pauses Walkie’s alerts to you, but calls still ring.
    • Schedule: when you’re added to an event, or one changes.
    • Site notices: gate asks, take-off asks, changes to your posts on the Bulletin, and urgent posts.
    • Weather: warnings and next-day heads-ups for your job sites.
    • Follow-ups: reminders when your follow-ups come due.
    • The contacts row: a heads-up when someone in your contacts joins Walkie.
    • Referrals: when someone you invited joins, and updates on your rewards.
    • Billing: when a free month is about to end, or your Walkie line changes.
  5. Under On this phone, turn Show message content on lock screen off if you want lock-screen alerts to hide the sender and message text. This one is saved to your account too.
  6. On Android, the two settings that make calls ring, Ring on the lock screen and Calls in the background, are in You › Calls › This phone. If either says Off, tap it and allow it, so calls ring over the lock screen and aren’t delayed.

Mute one conversation

  1. Open the conversation.
  2. Tap its name at the top of the chat to open Conversation settings.
  3. Under Only you, turn on Mute conversation.
  4. To keep dated follow-up reminders from that conversation quiet too, turn off Follow-up reminders in the same place.

Mute one job everywhere

  1. In Conversation settings, tap the job under Job feeds (the heading also shows how many jobs there are).
  2. Turn on Mute job everywhere. That job goes quiet in every conversation it’s in.
  3. Turn off Follow-up reminders there if you don’t want reminders for that job’s follow-ups.

If it didn’t work

  • The rows under What reaches you are dimmed, with “These can’t reach you until notifications are on for Walkie.” Your phone has Walkie’s notifications turned off. Tap Open Settings in the box at the top and allow notifications for Walkie Pro.
  • The box says Walkie alerts are Paused. All notifications is off. Tap Turn on alerts, or turn All notifications back on.
  • The box says setup didn’t finish. Tap Retry setup. It asks nothing of you.
  • Someone new messaged you once, then went quiet. A message request sends one alert. You won’t get more from that conversation until you accept it.
  • One conversation or job never alerts you. Check whether Mute conversation or Mute job everywhere is on for it.

For alerts that don’t arrive at all, see Walkie notifications aren’t arriving. Signing out won’t fix notifications, and it erases anything on the phone that hasn’t sent yet.

What Walkie can’t do

  • There’s no schedule that silences alerts at set times, and no timed mute. A mute stays on until you turn it off.
  • There’s no separate switch for messages, mentions, reactions or missed calls. All notifications covers them together.
  • There’s no way to mute one person. Mute the conversation instead.
  • Walkie’s mutes can’t stop an incoming Walkie call from ringing.
  • These settings can’t turn your phone’s own notification permission on or off. That’s in your phone’s Settings.

Quick answers

If I turn off All notifications, will calls still ring?
Yes. Walkie's own mutes never stop an incoming Walkie call from ringing. Missed-call alerts are paused, though.
Can I set Walkie to go silent at night?
No. Walkie has no setting that silences alerts at set times of day, and a mute stays on until you turn it off.
How do I mute one conversation?
Tap the conversation's name at the top of the chat, then under Only you turn on Mute conversation.
How do I mute one job everywhere?
In the conversation's settings, tap the job under Job feeds, then turn on Mute job everywhere.
Does the lock-screen setting only apply to this phone?
No. Show message content on lock screen sits under On this phone, but it's saved to your account, so it applies on every phone you use.
Can I turn off message alerts but keep schedule alerts?
No. Turning off All notifications pauses Walkie's alerts to you, including schedule ones. Mute the noisy conversations or jobs instead.
