What is the job Bulletin, and how do I post to it?
The Bulletin is one board per job for what's true on site now. By default anyone on the job can post, and an ordinary post notifies nobody. An urgent live update or closure notifies everyone on the job once.

This one's about the bulletin. Here's how it works.
The gate code... wet concrete... where the plans are. Post it once on the bulletin... and everyone on the project can see it.
Live updates, closures, decisions... and documents, like the plans. Each one has its place.
Now, the gate code. On the Bulletin tab, tap the plus, pick the project... and choose Getting in.
Say what it opens, and add the code. It stays hidden until someone taps it... and never goes on the public page.
For anyone not on Walkie, turn on the public page, and print the poster. Put it up at the gate.
Anyone can scan it, and ask to be let in. They confirm their number or email... no app needed.
You get the request. Tap Let them in... and they see only what you allowed. And you can take it back, any time.
Post it once... and stop answering the same question. Try it on your next project.
The Bulletin is one board per job for what’s true on site right now: live updates, closures, how to get in, decisions and the current drawings. By default anyone in a conversation connected to the job can post. The job’s owner can change that to Everyone, managers approve or Owner and managers only. Everyone currently in those conversations sees the board, even posts from before they joined. An ordinary post for everyone on the job sends no notification. An urgent live update or closure notifies everyone on the job once, at the moment it’s posted.
Steps
Open a job’s Bulletin
- Open the Bulletin tab.
- Pick the job.
The board has six sections: Live now, Closures, Getting in, Decisions, Documents and Cleared.
Post something
- On the job’s board, tap Post to the bulletin. Or tap + at the top of the Bulletin tab; with one job, + goes straight to the kinds, and with more you pick the job first.
- Pick a kind: Live now, Closure, Getting in, Decision or Document or photo. A posted notice still says Document.
- Fill it in:
- A gate or lockbox code goes under Getting in: answer What does it open? with the gate or box (never the code, because that line is public), then What’s the code?, and make sure Hide it until tapped is on. With it on, the code stays hidden on the board until someone taps it, and it stays off the printed poster.
- A document or photo: Add the document takes it from Take a photo, Photos, Files or From this job.
- A closure asks What is shut and When is it shut.
- A live update asks What’s happening? and When does it come off?, and drops off the board on its own at that time.
- Check it on Check and post, then post. When you post a newer version of a drawing that’s already up, the button reads Post new version. Only the person who posted the drawing, or someone they’ve let give it out, can replace it.
A post can also be limited to people you choose. It still shows on the board for the whole crew, but its details or code stay locked for everyone else, who can ask you for them. The people you pick get a notification.
Take a post down
The person who posted it, someone they handed it to, or the job’s owner or a manager can clear any post, live updates included. Everyone else sees Ask to take this off, which asks the poster.
- Tap the post.
- On a live update or closure, tap the button that reads “Clear update” or “Clear closure”, then confirm with Clear. On the other kinds, tap Take off board.
- Cleared posts move to Cleared. The poster, or someone they’ve let give it out, can bring one back with Put it back.
Turn on the public page
Tap the broken-chain icon at the top of the board, tap Turn on public page, then confirm with Turn on. The job gets one link and a printable QR poster. See the guests article below for how people at the gate get let in.
If it didn’t work
- “This job has no conversation yet, so there is nowhere for a post to go.” Connect the job to a conversation first.
- “Add a conversation to a project to post”. You tapped + on Bulletin, but none of your jobs is connected to a conversation yet. Open a conversation and tap Add to a project first.
- “1 post hasn’t sent. Your crew can’t see it yet. Tap to retry.” Your post is waiting for signal. Tap the banner to retry.
- “Couldn’t post that. Try again.” Check your signal and tap Post again.
- Nobody reacted to your post. An ordinary post for everyone doesn’t notify anyone. Tell the people who need it directly. An urgent live update or closure notifies everyone on the job once, at the moment it’s posted.
- Bulletin notifications are too much, or too quiet. You › Calls & notifications › Notifications › Site notices covers gate asks, take-off asks, changes to your posts and urgent posts.
What Walkie can’t do
- An ordinary post for everyone on the job doesn’t send a push notification to anyone. An urgent live update or closure notifies everyone on the job once, at the moment it’s posted.
- By default anyone in a conversation connected to the job can post. The job’s owner can change that to Everyone, managers approve or Owner and managers only.
- You can’t take down someone else’s post unless you’re the job’s owner or a manager. Ask them with Ask to take this off.
- The public page never shows codes, what a decision or document says, anyone’s name or phone number, or the full street address. It does show the job’s short name, which is often its street line.
- A job that isn’t connected to any conversation can’t take posts.
