How do I let a driver or inspector in from the Bulletin?
Turn on the job's public page. A guest asks to be let in and confirms their number or email; you tap Let them in and they get a private link.

- Bulletin
Turn on the job’s public page and put its QR poster at the gate, and a driver or inspector can scan it, tap Ask to be let in, and confirm their mobile number or email with a six-digit code. Guests who ask to be let in get their code by text or by email, whichever they choose. When you tap Let them in, they get a link to a private page that shows only what you let them see, such as the gate code, which is never in the text or email itself.
Steps
Put the job on a public page
- Open the Bulletin tab and pick the job.
- Tap the broken-chain icon at the top of the board, then Turn on public page, and confirm with Turn on.
- Tap Print poster for a QR poster in English and Spanish, or See the public page to check what a stranger sees.
The public page never shows codes, what a decision or document says, anyone’s name or phone number, the full street address, or anything about your other jobs. It does show the job’s short name, which is often its street line.
What the guest does
- Scans the poster or opens the link. They tap Ask to be let in, or tap one post to ask about it. Ask to be let in only shows when the board has at least one live post.
- Types their name and picks Text me or Email me, then enters their mobile number or email address. For texts they tick the consent box. They can add a reason, then tap Send request.
- Types the six-digit code they receive, or taps the link in the message, then taps Let me in.
Let them in
- The person who posted it, and anyone they’ve picked to let people in, gets a notification as soon as the request is made. That can be before the guest has typed their code. The Bulletin tab also shows a number that counts requests for you to answer, plus unread posts, and the top of its job list says how many people are asking.
- Open the Bulletin tab and open the request. It shows their name and whether they confirmed it: Number confirmed, Email confirmed, Not on Walkie · number not verified or Not on Walkie · email not verified.
- Tap Let them in, or Not this time. You can let in a guest who hasn’t confirmed yet, so check the card first.
- The guest gets a link by text or email to a private page with what you shared. A guest never gets what a document says, only its name.
To give a post to someone who already uses Walkie, open the post, tap Who can see this, then Let someone in. That list only offers people on Walkie. Anyone else has to ask from the public page.
Take access back
Open the post, tap Who can see this, and use Take it back on the guest. Block stops everything you shared with them and stops them asking again from that number or email.
If it didn’t work
- The guest never got a code. Ask them to check the number or email they typed, and to try Email me if texts aren’t coming through. They can send the request again.
- The guest lost their link. On the ask page they tap Lost the link you were sent?, then Send me a new link. The new link and code have the same 10-minute limit.
- The guest’s link expired before they opened it. An approved link expires after 7 days if it isn’t opened. Let them ask again.
- “This page isn’t on right now” on the guest’s screen. Either the public page is off, or the link isn’t one Walkie recognises. If it’s off, turn it back on, and the same link and poster work again.
- “Only an admin can turn the public page off” Ask an admin of the conversation or whoever created the job. The person the app names turned the page on, but they may not be able to turn it off either.
- “Public page needs attention” Tap it. Recover with original link or QR can bring back the link your printed posters use.
- “Walkie couldn’t turn the public page on, and trying again won’t change that. Contact support and quote …” Contact support with the code in that message.
What Walkie can’t do
- The public page never shows a gate code, even to someone standing at the gate. Someone on the crew has to let them in.
- You can’t make a new public link or QR yourself. Only support can, and every printed poster stops working when they do.
- Only an admin of a conversation connected to the job, or the job’s creator, can turn the public page off.
- Let someone in can’t reach people who aren’t on Walkie. They ask from the public page.
- A guest never sees what a document says.

Quick answers
- Does the public page show our gate code?
- No. It shows that a way in exists so someone can ask for it. The code only shows on the guest's private page after someone on the crew lets them in.
- Does the guest need a Walkie account?
- No. A guest confirms their mobile number or email address with a six-digit code, and that's all.
- Does the gate code get texted to the guest?
- No. The text or email only carries a six-digit confirmation code and, once you let them in, a link. The gate code is on the private page that link opens.
- How long does a guest have to enter their code?
- The six-digit code has a 10-minute limit, counted from when it's sent. They can ask for a new one on the same page.
- What happens if nobody answers a guest's request?
- It expires by itself after 7 days. Nothing else happens.
- Can I get a new link if the QR poster got out?
- Only Walkie support can issue a new link, and every printed poster stops working when they do. Email support with the job's short name.
- Who can turn the public page off?
- An admin of a conversation connected to the job, or the person who created the job. Anyone on the job can turn it on, and turning it back on brings back the same link and poster.
