What’s on the You tab

You is the last tab. It holds your profile, notifications, call settings, contacts, archive, plan, app settings, help, and account and privacy.

Where
You

You is the last tab along the bottom, and it’s where every setting lives; settings don’t have a tab of their own. From the top it has your profile card, then Invite & earn once you’ve had your first conversation, then six groups: Calls & notifications, People & projects, Plan, App, Help and Account.

What each row does

At the top

  • Your profile card — tap it to open Edit profile: your name, photo, phone number, email, and your work details. The language Walkie translates into is its own row, Language you speak, under App.
  • One reminder, when there’s something to do — for example Sending problems when something didn’t send, Update ready when a newer version is out, Notifications are off with a Turn on button, Get set up while the setup checklist isn’t finished, or Add a photo. Only one shows at a time.
  • Invite & earn — your invite link and code, and the rewards you’ve earned for inviting people. The reward is shown here in the app. It shows once you’ve had your first conversation.

Calls & notifications

  • Notifications — which kinds of alerts reach you, and whether message text shows on your lock screen.

  • Calls — the one place for calling settings. It’s not the Calls tab along the bottom, which is where you start a call. The row shows which number people see when you call: Walkie line, Mobile, or Check needed. The numbers themselves are inside. Inside:

    • Your numbers — Your mobile with its number, marked Confirmed or Check needed, and Your Walkie line (a phone number Walkie gives you, where callbacks ring in Walkie). A line shows its number and Ready or On hold; tap it for Copy number. With no line, it shows Get a Walkie line when your account can get one. If your mobile needs a 30-second check, a box with Check now shows under them; if your line is on hold, one with See plans. Calls to regular phone numbers work for US and Canadian (+1) numbers.
    • Calling people not on Walkie — two cards. Number they see: which of your numbers they see, with Auto, Mobile and Walkie line to pick from when you have a Walkie line. After each call: whether Walkie texts someone who isn’t on Walkie a summary after you call them; the app calls these recap texts. Choose Text them, Ask me or Don’t.
    • Recording — every call is recorded and transcribed, and the other person hears a short notice first. How it works shows the full notice.
    • This phone — on Android only, Ring on the lock screen and Calls in the background, so calls ring and aren’t delayed.

To change the number or recap texts for one person, open your conversation with them and tap the line under their name, for example “Sees your mobile”. Their sheet shows the same two cards, marked “your default” where they follow yours.

People & projects

  • My Contacts — the people you work with, and invites for people who aren’t on Walkie yet.
  • Archive — the jobs, conversations and lists you’ve archived, where you can bring them back.
  • Your office — connect your company’s Slack so people in the field can send things to the office.

Plan

  • Plan & usage — your plan, and how much of this month’s allowance you’ve used for calls, voice memos and Ask Walkie. Paid plans are sold to customers in the United States. You upgrade in Plan & usage, and pay on Stripe's checkout page in your browser.

App

  • Phone access — which phone permissions Walkie has: microphone, camera, photos, contacts and location. To turn one off, use your phone’s Settings.
  • Appearance — light, dark, or follow your phone. It’s set per device.
  • Language — the language the app is shown in. It only appears when Walkie is available in more than one language.
  • Language you speak — summaries and voice memos are translated into it. Only you see it.
  • Vibration — turns vibration for taps and incoming activity on or off.
  • Show tips — turns short, one-time pointers to features on or off.

Help

  • How Walkie works — a short guide to the main features, with a chance to practice in My Notes.
  • Get set up — the setup checklist.
  • Help & support — opens on Help Center (“Answers to common questions”), which opens walkiepro.com/help/ in your browser. It also has Email support, Call support, and Diagnostics, which copies crash details to send with a report.
  • Terms & about — the terms and policies, and your app version.

Account

  • Account & privacy — Blocked accounts (where you can Unblock people), Deactivate account, and Request account deletion, which deletes your account after a 30-day grace period.
  • Sign out — signs you out on this device after you confirm.

If it didn’t work

  • You’re looking for your list of jobs. There’s no jobs row on You. Your projects are on the Projects tab, under My Projects.
  • You don’t see Invite & earn. It shows once you’ve had your first conversation.
  • You can’t find Your Walkie line. It’s under You › Calls, and only shows when your account can get a line, or already has one.
  • You don’t see Get set up under Help. It moves to the reminder at the top while the checklist isn’t finished. Only one of the two shows at a time.
  • Phone access won’t let you turn something off. Walkie can only ask for a permission. Turn it off in your phone’s Settings.
  • You’re about to tap Sign out to fix a problem. Don’t. Signing out erases anything on this device that hasn’t sent yet, and it doesn’t fix notifications or sync. Check Sending problems first.

What Walkie can’t do

  • Settings don’t have a tab of their own. Every setting is under You.
  • You can’t block someone from Blocked accounts; it only unblocks. Blocking is Report and block on a message request.
  • There’s no download-your-data button. To get a copy of your data, email support@walkiepro.com.
  • You can’t change your sign-in email from Edit profile. Contact support to change it.
