Messages or photos aren’t showing up
Your messages show Queued, Sending, Sent, Delivered or Didn't send. A missing photo shows Syncing, then Try again. Old messages depend on your plan.
- iPhone · Android · Web
- Free · Crew · Plus · Elite
Most of the time a missing message or photo is still on its way: Walkie brings new content in by itself while it’s open and connected, and there’s no pull-to-refresh. Your own messages show where they are (Queued, Sending, Sent, Delivered or Didn’t send), and a photo that hasn’t arrived shows Syncing…, then a Try again button. If older messages stop at a certain point, that’s your plan’s history window.
Steps
A message you sent
- Look at the word under your message.
- Queued: saved on your phone, waiting for a connection. It sends by itself once you’re online with Walkie open.
- Sending, then Sent, then Delivered: it’s going or gone.
- Didn’t send with “Message didn’t send” under it: tap Try again (or Review problem) to open Sending problems and choose what to do.
- If your message was held because new messages came in, open Sending problems, tap it, and choose Send anyway, Edit message or Delete draft.
A photo, video or file
- If the tile says Syncing…, give it a moment. Walkie keeps trying on its own.
- After about 30 seconds it changes to an unavailable tile with Try again. Tap it.
- If a whole set of photos says Media unavailable, go back to Messages, then open the conversation again once you have a connection.
If it didn’t work
- Your own message stays on Queued. The phone has no working connection, or Walkie isn’t open. Open Walkie on a good signal. On iPhone, messages send while Walkie is open and for a short time after you leave it. Wi-Fi that needs a sign-in page counts as no connection until you sign in.
- The top of the conversation says “Your plan keeps … of history”. That’s as far back as your plan shows: 6 months on Free, 3 years on Crew, 10 years on Plus and full history on Elite. Nothing older is deleted.
- Older messages won’t load while offline. Messages that were never downloaded to this phone need a connection. Scroll back again once you’re online.
- Someone joined a conversation late and can’t see earlier messages. People see the conversation from the time they were added.
- A new conversation from someone you don’t know. It’s a message request. Tap Accept to see it like any other conversation and get its alerts.
- A document says you’re offline. “You’re offline. This file will open when you’re back online.” Files open offline only if they were downloaded before.
What Walkie can’t do
- There’s no pull-to-refresh on Messages or in a conversation, and none is needed: new content arrives on its own.
- Walkie can’t show messages or calls from before your plan’s history window. Lists, notes, jobs and follow-ups are never hidden by it.
- Walkie can’t load history that was never downloaded while the phone is offline.
- Signing out or reinstalling won’t make missing messages appear, and it erases anything on this phone that hasn’t sent yet.

Quick answers
- How do I refresh a conversation?
- There's no pull-to-refresh on Messages or in a conversation. Walkie brings in new messages on its own while it's open and connected.
- What does Queued mean on my message?
- It's saved on your phone and waiting for a connection. It sends by itself when the phone is back online and Walkie is open.
- Why can't I scroll back to older messages?
- Each plan keeps a set amount of history. At the top of the conversation Walkie shows how far back your plan reaches.
- Will a queued message always send by itself?
- Almost always. If it waited 5 minutes or more and someone else posted in the meantime, Walkie holds it until you choose Send anyway.
- A photo shows Syncing. What do I do?
- Wait. If it still isn't there after about 30 seconds, the tile shows Try again, and tapping it asks for the photo again.
- Someone new messaged me but I don't see alerts for it. Why?
- A first message from someone new is a message request. You get one alert, and no more until you tap Accept.
