Every current member of the conversation is charged the call’s minutes, including people who didn’t pick up, and each is charged the whole call, timed from when it starts ringing to when it ends. The minutes limit is on. A call gets its transcript and summary if anyone on it has minutes left when it ends, even if the call runs past their balance. If nobody does, the call stays a recording, and new calls are written up again when minutes reset. Translating a voice memo or writing up a walkthrough needs enough minutes left to cover it, and a video transcript needs someone on Plus or Elite with enough minutes left to cover the video. Your minutes reset on the 1st of each month.

Steps

See how many minutes you’ve used

  1. Open the You tab.
  2. Under Plan, look at the Plan & usage row. It shows your minutes used this month.
  3. Tap Plan & usage for the full breakdown.

If it didn’t work

  • Your minutes went down after a call you missed. That’s expected. Everyone in the conversation is charged the whole call, not only the people who talked.
  • A big group used a lot of minutes fast. Each member is charged the full length of every call in that conversation. A long call in a group of four comes out of all four people’s minutes.
  • The count looks higher than the time you talked. The ringing counts too, from the moment the call started ringing to hang-up.
  • A call has a recording but no transcript or summary. When nobody on the call has minutes left, the call is still recorded but isn’t transcribed or summarized, and it isn’t processed later when minutes come back. The card says it wasn’t transcribed because minutes ran out.

What Walkie can’t do

  • Walkie can’t charge only the caller. Every member of the conversation is charged the full call, including people who didn’t answer.
  • Walkie can’t leave ring time out of the charge.
  • Unused minutes don’t carry over to the next month.
  • A call that wasn’t transcribed because minutes ran out can’t be transcribed later.
  • Paid plans are sold to customers in the United States. You upgrade in Plan & usage, and pay on Stripe's checkout page in your browser.

Quick answers

How many call minutes does each plan include?
Free includes 30 a month, Crew 100, Plus 300 and Elite 2,500.
I didn't pick up. Why was I charged?
Walkie charges every current member of the conversation for the whole call, whether or not they joined it. If you were in the conversation when the call was processed, it came out of your minutes too.
Does the time it spends ringing count?
Yes. The charge runs from when the call starts ringing to when it ends.
Does a call nobody answers use minutes?
No. A call nobody answers isn't recorded, so nothing is charged, unless the caller leaves a voicemail: a voicemail is transcribed and uses minutes like a call.
When do my minutes come back?
On the 1st of every month, UTC. It's the calendar month, not the day you signed up.
Do voice memos use minutes?
Transcribing a voice memo is free. Translating a memo uses minutes, charged to the person who asked for the translation.
Will a call get cut off when I run out?
No. Minutes never stop a call from ringing, connecting or being recorded. They only decide whether it gets a transcript and summary.
